By now, you have probably not only heard but heard more than enough about the coronavirus.  It has literally changed the way our country does life.  For some this is daunting at best, unbearable at worst.  For some, it isn’t that much different a routine.  For most, it is likely somewhere in between.  The question is, when challenging times come and we don’t know what tomorrow holds, how’s your mindset?

You have heard it said that mindset is everything.  If you are in real estate, you are likely being reminded of this in real time right now.

There are a lot of people now afraid of failing because of the uncertainty in the markets.   However as one of my coaches told me…’The worst thing you could fear is failure.  Failure is the one thing that propels you forward the most.’

Think about that.  Lots of uncertainty, definite possibility of failure, unemployment applications at record highs and yet consider that failure could be the thing that propels you forward the most.  Have you been there?

Buying real estate is buying assets that by default can create a healthy fear since you are dealing with property with many zeroes in the price.  Throw in a pandemic and it is been interesting to see many run for the sidelines or leave the game already.  Yet the houses are still just inanimate objects sitting there.  Very fascinating to observe.  Perception is a powerful thing.  Fear is sadly too powerful a thing for far too many.  A healthy balance is in order.

This is where mindset comes in.  If you control your mindset, your outlook will be better.  Your perception will be better.  Your ability to see opportunity in the face of fear will be better.  Your fear of failure will dissipate because you know you can weather whatever comes your way.  How great is that?

It is now well spoken that the economic ripples that will outlive the pandemic remain to be seem but they are coming.  They have already started in the lending world.  Blame game has already begun which rarely brings any positive value.  The question is…what’s your mindset going to be?

Win the mindset game and your business will win.  Play the game to win!
